The Way We Search Is Changing—Again

March 16, 2025

For the longest time, search meant one thing: Google. You’d go to Google.com, type in what you needed, and boom—answers.

Then things got even smoother. Google Chrome turned every new tab into a search bar. No need to visit Google.com anymore. Just Cmd+T (or Ctrl+T) and start typing.

But now, it’s shifting again. We’ve come full circle.

Search is no longer just about finding links—it’s about getting direct answers. Instead of typing into Google, many of us are now heading straight to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, or some other AI chatbot. We no longer just "search"; we ask, converse, and get instant responses tailored to us.

The browser search bar? It's starting to feel old-school. Now, the default action is opening ChatGPT.com, chat.com, or whatever AI assistant we trust.

Where does this leave Google? Is AI chat replacing search? Will Google adapt, or will it be disrupted?

It’s still early, but one thing is clear: the way we search is changing—again.
